I love baseball. I love the epic battle between the pitcher and batter, I love the anticipation of a 3-2 pitch, and I love the controversy of blown calls. Tonight the Philadelphia Phillies hosted the Tampa Bay Rays in Game 4 of the World Series. Now this series has already had a couple of close calls and after watching the instant replay, each one was ruled incorrectly. But tonight was the mother-of-all blown calls. Tonight was the Pièce de résistance of blown calls. Tonight was the "I have my glove shoved halfway up your ass and this still isn't an out" mother-of-all blown calls.

My sympathies go out to the Rays who were shelled tonight. However, if the Phillies can end this soon I must say I am happy to see the balance of power shifting to the NL for a change.

I don't think I've ever had to write this many ridiculous essays. Really, I mean how many ways can you solve the world's problems with your animation degree? Honestly, fastweb.com has helped out but there are just not that many media art scholarships/grants for Middle Class Caucasian Males.

A work in progress this is. I love this program sooooo much. Unfortunately, I'm still a novice with painting and don't exactly know what oil brushes to use =( I like the oils. A lot. A Wacom. Digital Oils. A Guinness. This is Heaven. Well, I don't know what else to say. I'm tired and have work tomorrow at 7 =(

The first post is stuff I did roughly 6 months ago. I can see my mistakes looking at them now. I was inexperienced at using contour lines and actually STRUCTURING my characters. They are all very flat (especially that year-old Dune-esque thing yeesh!) and arbitrarily rendered. The Jim Leyland caricature is okay and I kind of like my boxing vulture. Other than that look at the robber guy!?! Oy.

Now for the newer stuff. I am slightly more experienced with structuring a character and using contour lines and I am starting to understand human proportions a little better. YAY! Also, I have been studying anatomy and lighting so that I am not arbitrarily throwing shadows on my characters. While I can see improvement there is TONS more room left for improvement.....like poses. Oy Vey, look at those poses.....stiff and awkward like a 16 year-old at a strip club. And on that note I will end this.
